I collaborated with Aheneah, a textile artist, and Viuva Lamego, an artisanal tile factory located in Portugal, to produce this installation called “Shifting” for GALP headquarters. “Shifting” is an installation that explores the idea of energetic transition through wavy tiles of different colours and tones. We specifically chose high-relief tiles painted with transparent colors. This characteristic allows for natural variations in tone along the surface of each tile, with darker tones in the low relief and lighter tones in the high relief. We used this feature to create a feeling of fluidity and movement, resulting in a living work of art when exposed to light. The colours and vibrations of the panel will change depending on the natural light or the lighting system when it’s on.
